Thanks for stopping by. I’m Kollin Mendoza.

I work as a senior data engineer. My career has primarily involved being handed flaming messes and handing back something much less painful to hold onto.

In other words: I simplify systems. Every line of code is a liability, and less liability is usually good. My favorite color on GitHub is red. This philosophy applies to code just as much as cloud compute, stale services, and meeting invites. You would be amazed at how little ever survives a few good rounds of “why?”

Removal is preferred, but I equally love building. Setting an entire ETL process up with a sweet dashboard from scratch is just as fun as extending an existing pipeline. Regardless of the task, I’ve proven myself decent at getting up-to-speed on complex systems quickly, and making valuable contributions that last.

Currently senior-data-engineering at ApartmentIQ working primarily on Daylight, AIQ’s Revenue Management solution. It’s the best in the industry and I’m not just being a yuppie. I’d hate to compete with us in this market.
